Seismic Hazard Assessment and Volcanic Seismicity for D.R Congo

Earthquakes and volcanic eruptions pose a significant risk in the Eastern provinces of the DR Congo. Several severe earthquakes (M6) and volcanic eruptions caused loss of life and damage to properties. This book presents a comprehensive treatment of seismic hazard assessment and seismic precursors to volcanic eruptions in the Eastern provinces of DR Congo. This book should be on the shelf of scientist, graduate students with an interest into the investigation of volcanic process in the Virunga area and earthquake disaster mitigation.

Georges Mavonga Tuluka, PhD Senor Researcher Goma Volcanic Observatory Si è specializzato nella valutazione del rischio sismico ed è coinvolto con il Global Earthquake Model (GEM) e l'Africa Array nella valutazione del rischio sismico nell'East Africa Rift. Dal 1988 si occupa di sismologia dei vulcani per monitorare i precursori sismici delle eruzioni del vulcano Nyiragongo.
