Selected Writings on Turkish Politics

This book is composed of various small articles that Dr Hakan has written with his students for various think-tanks, news portals and research centers on the areas of Turkish politics, Turkish foreign policy and politics as a science in general. The articles on Turkish politics generally revolve around the topics of the development of democracy, human rights and rule of law in Turkish political life from the past to the present with an analytical perspective. They are followed by the discussion of some selected cases in Turkish foreign policy. The articles on political science discuss some basic concepts and processes in politics like the meaning of politics, its link with some other disciplines, methodology in political science and so on and so forth. What makes this book unique is that the subjects that it handles could seem very common, but they are examined here with an analytical rather than a descriptive perspective that will make the readers ponder on.

Dr. Hakan Köni lectures at the Department of Political Science and Public Administration of stanbul Rumeli University. He has received his PhD from the Department of Political Science at hsan Döramac Bilkent University where he also completed his undergraduate degree in international relations previously.
