Selective waste collection in the Mineirinho stream microbasin - São Carlos/SP

Inadequate waste disposal, a major national problem, can be addressed through selective waste collection as one of the socio-environmental solutions. This study addresses selective waste collection in the Mineirinho stream microbasin, located in the municipality of São Carlos-SP, where some environmental problems are analyzed, including: the improper disposal of solid waste on public roads, vacant lots, and areas near springs and the microbasin stream. Thus, this study aims to identify positive and negative aspects of the structure and functioning of selective waste collection, suggesting proposals for management improvements and awareness programs for residents.
