Self[sufficient]Space
Details
Regional sustainable architecture historically conflicts with social interests and objectives in Indonesia. This thesis will research the relationships between the two, specifically through the study of the problem of healthcare inaccessibility in Indonesia. The project can be organized into two parts. The first involves extensive research into the relationship between the local traditions and the architecture that has evolved from it overtime. The second part of the project focuses on the translation of these investigations into a solution for the problem of healthcare inaccessibility. The thesis will develop a means by which true regionally responsive architecture can be achieved through the critical assessment of the local cultures and their existing needs.
