Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Sem Sæland (1874 1940) was a Norwegian physicist. He was a physics Professor at the Norwegian Institute of Technology (NTH) from 1910, and at the University of Oslo from 1922. He served as rector of the University of Oslo from 1927 to 1936. Sæland was a Commander of the Royal Norwegian Order of St. Olav, a Grand Knight of the Order of the Falcon, and a Commander of the Order of the Crown of Italy. The Norwegian Institute of Technology, known by its Norwegian abbrevation NTH (Norges Tekniske Høgskole) was a science institute in Trondheim, Norway. It was established in 1910, and existed as an independent technical university for 85 years, after which it was merged into the University of Trondheim as an independent college. In 1996 NTH ceased to exist as an organizational superstructure when the university was restructured and rebranded. The former NTH departments are now basic building blocks of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).
