Semantic features of comparisons in Russian and English

This book is devoted to the study of structural and semantic features of comparisons in English and Russian and their use in the texts of fiction and journalism. The study of stylistic devices on the material of different works of any language often attracts the attention of a wide range of linguists and literary scholars. It is possible to enhance the expressiveness of the speech and the work with the help of various linguistic means. One of the frequently used tropes is comparison. Analysis of reality, comparing its new, previously unseen phenomena and images with those that have been firmly assimilated by man and fixed in the dictionaries, finding common features in different, unrelated objects, and vice versa - the search for differences in close, related - a huge achievement of human thinking.
