Semi-Automated Wheelchair/Stretcher with GPS for Hospital Mobility
Details
In today's busy world, monitoring elderly individuals or patients with chronic ailments is challenging, whether in hospitals, old-age homes, or private residences. A solution is needed to continuously track their health and alert caregivers to any abnormal changes in vital parameters. This project proposes a wireless, user-friendly device using RF technology, enabling constant monitoring without restricting the patient's mobility. Biomedical sensors, such as temperature and heartbeat monitors, are attached to the patient and linked to a Micro controller that tracks and processes sensor data. This data is transmitted to a centralized console via RF, where a Microcontroller coordinates communication between multiple devices. In emergencies, the system triggers an alarm and sends notifications to the concerned caregiver for immediate action. Furthermore, the project integrates advanced mobility features into a wheelchair, including path-following technology using IR sensors. The wheelchair detects obstacles, halts automatically, and alerts caregivers via a centralized system, ensuring enhanced safety and care for patients.
