It gives me immense pleasure to introduce this book on sepsis.The challenge of anesthesiologist in critical care management are more comprehensive and varied.With the better understanding of pathophysiology of sepsis and etiology of multiple organ failure in sepsis we can improve mortality and morbidity in these patients. This book gives the latest update on sepsis and its management.I have included the rise and fall of activated protein C in sepsis.This drug was introduced with lots of hope in sepsis management. We can also learn a lesson from story of activated protein C that single meta-analysis is not sufficient. There should be chain of meta-analysis before introducing any drug for the patients especially in critical condition like sepsis. So the search continues for ideal drug in sepsis....
