Serbia on the European periphery
Details
"If the periphery of the capitalist system (in this case Serbia) is going to suffer the most, every time a crisis occurs and if on the other hand, the nature of capitalism is such that it is in the state of a permanent crisis, how come that the periphery can contemplate a way out from its subordinated position without restructuring its present relationship with the capitalist core?" I believe this work is important due to its non-mainstream point of view. Unlike the dominant discourse followed by "transtologists", my research aims to prove that only restructuring the existing relationship with the 'core system',rather than following the imposed rules, could get Serbia out of the devastating peripheral position. "What we can do with regards to this situation is to diminish the dominance of the transitional discourse and its theoretical support modernization theory. This should be done first domestically, by the means of disclosing the real intentions and interests of the local elites. The key is therefore, in abandoning the present perception of reality and turning towards something new, but on the level of the whole Yugoslav sphere, rather than separately."
