This book examines the Service Efficiency of Pallavan Transport Corporation Ltd., in Madras (Chennai) City. The success of firms mainly depends on the extent to which the firms are managed efficiently. The performance of firms is influenced by service efficiency of public transport. The study of Service Efficiency of public transport would be helpful for the operators and Governments, to frame policy for better efficiency. Besides, it is also helpful to service providers/Government, to decide best way, to provide best transport service to the common public. It is beneficial for the transport firms, to enhance the quality of corporate strategy and to protect the interests of all the stakeholders, including passengers, policy makers, apex regulating bodies and the standard of living as a whole. Besides, it increases the responsiveness of the firm to the needs of the society.
