SEXUAL ABUSE AGAINST CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS:

With the promulgation of the 1988 Federal Constitution, children are understood to be entitled to rights, in development and with absolute preference. Within the legal repertoire, it is guaranteed that no child and adolescent will be the object of any form of neglect, discrimination, abuse, aggression, atrocity and oppression, and any attack, by omission or action, on their fundamental rights will be punishable by law. Although a legal protection system is in place today, violence against children and adolescents still occurs. In view of the above, the objectives of this study were to quantify the cases recorded at the health unit through a survey of the selected population, all young people of both sexes, from 0 (zero) years old to 18 (eighteen) years old, notified by HUUFMA in the period of 1 (one) year, specifically in 2016, with the aim of describing the prevalence of sexual violence against children and adolescents, as well as identifying its incidence by age group, knowing the profile of the victims and aggressors.
