Shaqq: A Vernacular Dwelling of Baltistan

The author is indulged in a long term project to record and preserve the Vernacular residential Architecture of Baltistan, through on scale survey drawings. This study is intended to compliment the several architecture studies conducted in Baltistan in the past, and will eventually pave the way to a study in architectural anthropology, which in turn will help preserve the rich traditional Architecture of Baltistan.

M. Taseer Hussain Baltistani is a Doctoral Candidate of Vernacular Architecture. He is the first Interior Designer of Baltistan & co-owner of GMT Design Studio. He is an Assistant Professor of History of Architecture, and taught at some of the most renowned Universities in Pakistan. He is the author of several articles published in reputed Journals
