Shelby William Storck (October 3, 1916 - April 5, 1969) was an American newscaster, actor, writer, journalist, public relations specialist, and motion picture and television producer-director. He was a radio actor on The Air Adventures of Jimmie Allen and other programs, and appeared in the feature films The Delinquents and The Cool and the Crazy. The descendant of General Joseph O. Shelby, Shelby Storck was born in Kansas City, Missouri and was graduated from the University of Kansas City, now the University of Missouri-Kansas City, in 1937. Storck worked as a newscaster for the Kansas City Star and its affiliated radio station WDAF from 1939 until he joined the Navy in 1942. A Navy pilot, he rose to the rank of lieutenant before being discharged in 1945. Two of his years of service had been in the Mediterranean theater, where he saw action during World War II.
