Shool (Pain): An Ayurvedic Perspective

Pain is a subjective sensation and a major health burden throughout the globe. Pain leaves major negative effects over physical and psychological status of an individual,as well as it poses annoyance in routine work and appease the work efficiency . Pain is a condition which can be experienced universally alike both by humans and animals. It is an unpleasant sensation and can be appreciated by subjective feelings. As like the modern system , Ayurveda too has denoted this condition in terms of unpleasantness and has not given a separate disease entity, whereas it is a important sensory symptom gives warning signal about the existence of problem or threat. Though the remedies are readily available to treat the condition of pain but the side and after effects restrict their use. Whereas the task of medicine is to preserve and restore health and to relieve suffering .Therefore with the view to evaluate and explore the safe, cheap and effective Ayurveda remedy for pain the study is contemplated.
