High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! The Shutokei or Metropolitan Police is a fictional Japanese military police force depicted in Mamoru Oshii's military science fiction Kerberos Saga. The original purpose of the M.P. was to support the regular Japanese police, called Self-Police ( jichi kei), in combatting vicious crime of armed thieves and gangs in the area of the Japanese capital, Tokyo (hence Shutokei is sometimes translated as "Capital Police). As the social situation greatly turned in the course of the years, the M.P.'s role eventually evolved to assume anti-governmental city guerrillas including the Sect and terrorist groups such as the Four Seasons League.
