Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui - Faith, Myth, Babel : study of a mixed dance

Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui is a Belgian-Moroccan dancer and choreographer who is one of the most prominent figures in the European contemporary dance scene today. With a rhythm of one or two creations per year, he tours his shows all over the world. His triptych Faith - Myth - Babel (words) is the result of eight years of creation and is a keystone of the choreographer's work. It deals with questions of identity, interpersonal relationships, borders and spirituality. The mixture of forms and the undisciplined multidisciplinarity characteristic of these three performances are confounding. This book offers a detailed exploration of this "mixed" universe, a journey through all the influences that weave these performances and make them a fascinating reflection of our reality through dance.

Claire Frament ha studiato letteratura moderna prima di entrare al Conservatorio e specializzarsi in studi teatrali all'Università di Parigi III Sorbonne Nouvelle. Qui si è appassionata in particolare al teatro-danza. Dopo il Master, si è formata professionalmente all'INSAS di Bruxelles, dove attualmente è attrice.
