Alaa M. Rashad is a permanent Professor in the Building Materials and Quality Control Institute, Housing and Building National Research Center (HBRC), Cairo, Egypt, as well as a temporary Professor in the Civil Engineering Department, College of Engineering, Shaqra University, Al-Dawadmi, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, He received his BS from Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University, Egypt. He received his Master in Civil Engineering - Structural Engineering from Cairo University. He received his PhD in Structural Engineering from Cairo University and he finished his scientific mission (postdoctoral) at the School of Planning, Architecture, and Civil Engineering, Queen's University Belfast, Belfast, United Kingdom. He has published numerous research and review scientific papers in international journals. He has reviewed numerous research and review scientific papers for international journals and conferences. He served as an editor for a number of journals and one of scientific committees for a number of conferences. He is among the top 1% of reviewers for scientific papers in the world during 2017-2019. He is an excellent reviewer for scientific papers since 2021. He is one of the top 2% most cited scientists worldwide during 2017, 2019-2022. His research interests include building materials, alkali-activated materials, fire resistance, thermal insulation, recycling, durability, cementitious materials, quality control, and nanotechnology.
