Six masters of Azerbaijani painting

In this study, we would like to talk about six Azerbaijani painters of the second half of the 20th century, very different in style, nature of artistic thinking, intentions, idiolect and place in the culture of Azerbaijan. A separate chapter is devoted to each of them: the creator of the "severe style" of Soviet art, Tair Salakhov, the bright avant-garde star, sufi Rasim Babaev, the romantic Nadir Abdurahmanov, portrait painters couple Oktay Sadigzade and Elmira Shahtakhtinskaya, who revived the traditions of medieval miniatures at the modern level and integral artist Altai Sadigzade.
