Sizing a detention basin and a proposal for reuse

Flooding is something that causes a lot of damage in a city. New measures are being taken to prevent this from happening. The creation of a detention basin, popularly known as a "piscinão", is a viable solution, as it directs all the water from the rainwater network on a plot of land into a waiting basin, while it rains and waits for the water level in the tributary to drop. The device releases the water at a certain rate. The zoning laws of each city must be respected when constructing this basin. The aim of this work is to design a "pool" for a housing development in the city of São José dos Campos (SP). In addition to proposals for its maintenance and the reuse of the water retained in the reservoir.
