Small Business Management Training Manual

The purpose of this book is to provide training materials for business students in institutions of higher learning, however small business owners or entrepreneurs and business trainers will find the book helpful. This manual gives practical skills-based approach that teaches learners the most important things they need to know in small business management. Through individual and group assignments the manual guides students or prospective entrepreneurs in acquiring business management knowledge, best business management practices, current business trends and opportunities. Learners are sensitized to the dynamics of managing small businesses, government regulations, human capital, social capital, natural environment and impact of competition on micro, small and medium enterprises. This manual trains learners on how to come up with viable business plans, develop and enhance their capacity to work effectively in businesses, manage their resources effectively and efficiently. The book acknowledges the important role entrepreneurship and small businesses play to combat unemployment and wealth creation in any given economy.

Dr. Joseph Franklin Ntale is a senior lecturer at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa. He was born and raised in Uganda. He holds a PhD in Business Management from the University of Nairobi. MBA degree from the United States International University and a B.A. degree from Urban University, Rome & a Diploma from Katigondo Philosophicum Uganda.
