Smart Camera Networks

Since the need for public safety is growing worldwide, vision-based surveillance systems are steadily achieving higher public acceptance. Major applications enabled by multi-camera networks include smart homes, office automation through occupancy sensing, security and surveillance, mobile and robotic networks, human computer interfaces and virtual reality systems. Sensor deployment plays a very important role in surveillance systems. This book focuses on deployment of both fixed and mobile multi-camera network for complete coverage of the pre-defined surveillance space. The salient features are: 1) A CAD tool for PTZ camera and light source placement 2) Deployment of self organizing mobile camera network 3)Visual sensor based navigation tool.
