Tobacco use is a leading cause of preventable deaths world over, more so in developing countries. The youth of today is the target audience of big tobacco industries. The PhD Research mainly focuses on the Knowledge ,attitude and behavior of the college students of Ahmedabad city under Gujarat University jurisdictions, about tobacco and the various steps that that be taken in curbing the hazardous habit . This Public health initiative for the youth of Ahmedabad against tobacco is only possible with the help of strong hands who can stub it all like Strengthen enforcement of existing law and regulations and mobilizing the youth in college campuses through mass education and community empowerment.

Dr Shilpi Shah, MDS, PhD is Professor and Head of the Department of Periodontics and Oral Implantology at Ahmedabad Dental College, Gujarat. She has completed her PhD in tobacco in college students. She is an excellent clinician and academician. She has multiple national and international publications to her credit.
