The subject matter of the book is divided into seven chapters. In the introduction Indira Gandhi's childhood and political personality, in the second chapter review of literature described. The third chapter consisting the Smt.Gandhi's developmental programmes like Twenty Point Economic Programme. In the fourth chapter the author explained about the Indira Gandhi's developmental programmes for downtrodden with social justice. The fifth chapter contains Smt.Gandhi's strategies and tactics. In the sixth chapter Smt. Gandhi's Political career described as 'New Dawn'. The last chapter concludes with Smt. Gandhi's opinion on Empowerment of Women.

Dr. I.Subramanyam obtained M.A. (Pol.Sci&Pub-Admn), M.A. (Eng.Litt), B.L.I.Sc, NET&SLET (Pub-Admn), Ph.D (Pub-Admn) &PGDHR&SD from S.V.University,Tirupati. He has presented 70 research papers in National & International Conferences and published 3 books &20 Articles in various Journals. At present he teaches to PG students at SVU, India.
