Snippets - 52 Weeks of Diary Comics teaches the basics of writing and drawing comic strips in a diary format that provides a record of your year, your growth as an artist and storyteller, and a place to experiment and explore your creativity. For artists and non-artists alike, each week a new prompt will inspire users with suggestions of stories they can tell, or tips they can try. Extremely accessible and undemanding, the diary is designed for only one panel a day to be drawn, making it easy to fit into your life while at the same time allowing the use to establish a new hobby and skill. At the end of the week, the user has a completed comic strip to share with others, use as the basis for a bigger, longer story, or simply a private record of their life and growth as an artist.

Today, in this era of meditation, mindfulness, and generally just being super-aware of how we're all doing, taking the time to really notice our own lives and feelings and record them in a simple (or more complicated!)way can be incredibly fulfilling. It allows space for re_ection, and also space for play. Of course, it also allows space for creativity and for developing a new skill! In this book, you'll find prompts, tips, tricks-of-the-trade, and, most importantly, lots of blank spaces for you to fill in with your own life. Over the course of a week, adding a panel a day, you'll build a picture (literally!) of your year, and see your skills as an artist and storyteller grow. Whether you're someone who already draws comics and would like to get better at them, or someone who just wants to have a go at something new, please work through this book with an open mind, heart and pencil case!
