It features rare recordings of his songs, spanning from the mid-60's until his death in 2002. Included are songs written by John which were not included in some The Who recordings, as well as songs which were rejected by the band originally. His own interpretation of Who classics such as "Heaven and Hell" give an insight into his unique songwriting style in contrast to that of Pete Townshend.
