This book deals with the poetry of Edith Sitwell in the light of her social and religious consciousness. It traces historicistically the development of the poet's social and religious consciousness from her early poetry to the latest she published before her death. It reveals the clear links between Edith Sitwell's poetry and the major events of her time. The book is built on a textual and historicist approach. It falls into four chapters.

Shaymaa Zuahir received a B.A. in English Language in 2001 from the College of Education/ Mosul University and an M.A. in English Literature in 2005 from College of Arts/ Mosul University. She has started her teaching career at the College of Arts/ Mosul University. Her research interest includes Modern and Postmodern English and American poetry.
