Social Protection Program:Asian Context
Details
Social protection gained much attention among law makers. It becomes an important component of national development policies. It is easily understood as a policy framework describing public actions taken in response to vulnerability, risk and deprivation. The present status of the marginalized group inspires the authors to write a "one shop" book that encompasses the social protection initiatives of different countries in Asia. Part 1 gives the reader an overview of social protection. Part 2 centers on various SPP of different countries in Asia. This part enlightens the reader of the social safety nets both for formal and informal sectors. The last part schowcased a descriptive-correlational study about SPP in the Philippines in which the findings served as a basis for risk reduction measures. Due to unavailability of some data, the book is limited to the identification of the SPP only. The analysis is left to the clientele of each program.
