Social responsibility of higher education institutions

Based on a study of the opinions and values of university representatives on social responsibility issues, the current state of Kazakhstani practice in this area has been identified. A survey and analysis of university development programs revealed that social responsibility is not currently considered as high a priority as, for example, the development of breakthrough scientific research. However, despite the fact that social work is not based on clearly defined tasks for the implementation of the social function of universities, it is widely carried out by Kazakhstani universities.

Sholpan Dzhamanbalayeva formou-se em 1993 na Faculdade de Filosofia e Sociologia da Universidade Estatal do Cazaquistão Al-Farabi. Desde 1993, trabalha na KazNU como assistente, professora sénior, professora associada e professora catedrática do Departamento de Sociologia. Desde 2011, é vice-reitora para o desenvolvimento social da KazNU. Laureada com o prémio da Associação de Sociólogos.
