Socialization, Role Attainment, and Stigma Management

This research focuses on the methods of introduction into BDSM, role identification, and the management of private information as it relates to BDSM. It is through peer association, sexual scripting, complimentary differentiation, and impression management that new members are introduced, learn their role, and manage their information. This research is an initial look into the socially taboo lifestyle of 15 U.S. participants.
