The present work is an attempt to know about the glimpses of Karbi society and culture. The Karbis are the indigenous population of Karbi Anglong district of Assam, India. Their origin, migration and cultural tradition bears a special significance. In their livelihood, socio cultural norms values and customs are an inseparable part. This tradition is transmitted among them generation after generation. The present study is a brief discussion about their society and cultural tradition as well as its resemblance in their livelihood.

Mr. Somenath Bhattacharjee is specialized in the field of Health stuides, Ethnography, Folk Cultural studies, Women Rights and other emerging field of Anthropology. He has published numerous Research papers in different Books and Journals of National/ International repute. He is the life member of IASSH and IUAES commission of Urban Anthropology.
