SOCIO-ECONOMIC IMPACT OF COVID-19 IN THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO
Details
Man evolves in a system in which the links in the system, which are the economy, politics, medicine (health), agriculture, the environment, technology, etc., work in synergy and these elements impact each other. In this way, the harmony of the system ensures the well-being of humanity. However, in January 2020, a virus called Corona virus came and put the health of humanity (medicine) in difficulty. As a result of the pandemic, the Congolese government lowered its initial growth forecast for 2020 from 4% to 1%. Several sectors that support the Congolese economy have been shaken to the core, leaving the economy of the Democratic Republic of Congo in a serious state of uncertainty, (while the industrial mining sector, one of the sectors that supports more than 45% of the country's budget, has faced transport problems caused by the pandemic, the strict measures taken by the Congolese government and the closure of international borders to deal with the pandemic), affecting mineral exports and the import of essential inputs.
