Socio Economic Profile of the Dairy Farmers

The study was carried out to assess the Socio economic profile of the dairy farmers in Puducherry region of the Union Territory of Pondicherry. The study area (Puducherry region) was purposively selected for the following reasons: (1) Severe shortfall in the per capita availability of milk (low amount of milk production than demand). (2). Livestock rearing is one of the important occupations among the rural households in Puducherry region. This study will help in understanding the Socio economic profile of the dairy farmers in Puducherry in a scientific manner.
