Socio-economic Study of District Kinnaur in Himachal Pradesh

Present work is an outcome of my M.Phil dissertation. Socio-economic studies are usually very comprehensive in their scope as these touch various aspects of human life. Keeping in view the limitations of time and resources at our disposal and the requirements of the level of research, it has not been possible to explore all the aspect of socio-economic life of the people of the village under study. Present study reflects the socio-economic condition of tribal village in Himachal Pradesh and tribal village Sunnam of Kinnaur districts had been selected for the field work. In the present study, therefore, the main objectives were to study the socio-economic conditions of the people of village Sunnam, to study the socio-economic infrastructure and to study the Socio-economic resource base of the village.

Author has completed his master degree form Punjab University, Chandigrah and M.Phil from Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla. He is presently associated with Deer Park Institute, Himachal Pradesh (INDIA) for the last two years. Deer Park Institute is a centre for study of classical Indian wisdom traditions.
