Socket Preservation Techniques

The challenge for ridge preservation is well documented; socket shield technique is a minimally invasive procedure that proves almost similar results as previously described techniques to preserve the ridge without use of grafting materials.This study was conducted with aim to evaluate the efficacy of socket shield technique for immediate implant placement on 40 patients. The main objectives of the study were to evaluate alveolar bone loss after immediate implant placement using socket shield technique and to determine quality of osseointegration between tooth fragment and implant.
