Contemporary Orthodontist understands that variation is accepted as the norm; ideal occlusion is the exception rather than the rule, and the orthodontist and nature are often adversariesSoft Tissue Cephalometric Analysis done by Arnett is a simple, easy and an accurate analysis. However, has been done on Caucasian population. As the soft tissue drape of different population groups differs significantly, it would be inappropriate to apply directly the values of Arnett's analysis to Indian population (Western Uttar Pradesh). Facial harmony and esthetics are predominantly linked to racial preferences. Therefore, it is essential that norms for the Indian population must be established and formulated instead of relying on norms established for the Caucasian population which is in most cases often misleading. This book is an attempt to evaluate the soft tissue norms of Western Uttar Pradesh Population in Variable growth patterns with the use of cephalometrics.
