Software Product Lines: A Process Assessment Methodology

Software product line engineering has gained tremendous popularity due to its profound impact on software cost, quality and development time. As a result of its popularity, a methodology is required for the process assessment of software product lines. In this book we present a process assessment methodology for software product line engineering. The overall process assessment approach for software product line engineering is divided into a set of process assessment approaches for the business, organizational and architectural dimensions of software product line engineering. The process assessment approaches for different dimensions of software product line engineering consist of questionnaires, rating algorithms, and assessment methodologies. Overall this book aims to provide a comprehensive discussion about the state of the art practices of software product line engineering in the context of process maturity assessment.
