SOIL MECHANICS

Soil mechanics is the science of studying the physical and mechanical properties of the soil, the mechanical processes occurring in the soil under the influence of external as well as internal effects, thereby finding out the properties and regulations of the soil to address the problem of using soil for the purposes of construction buildings.Soil plays an important role in construction. Firstly, construction materials include construction sand; soil materials for floor leveling of houses, roads, airports, storage yards, and similar structures; soil materials for construction of dykes, slopes, dams, and similar structures. Secondly, the foundation for construction works. Therefore, it is necessary to determine the load-bearing capacity and the deformation of the ground. To solve those problems, it has relied on research results of the theory of Soil Mechanics.
