Many industries are using convectional method for drying e.g. electricity, coal and diesel fired hot air generator etc. But most of these are facing the problems of high and ever increasing cost of energy that influences the profitability levels. Energy is a critical input for economic growth, social development and human welfare. Solar thermal technologies have been used in various applications either, as natural convection type dryer, or with forced convection type dryer.This book provides detailed information about the designing of a forced convection type solar dryer with thermal storage system. Steps for design and techno-economics calculation of the developed forced convective dryer are given which will be helpful for both researchers and industrialist.

Er. Arpita Mehta is working as Senior Research Fellow at Department of Renewable Energy Engineering, C.T.A.E., Udaipur. She obtained Master of Engineering with specialization in Renewable Energy Engineering from M.P.U.A.T., Udaipur (India).
