Solar Thermoelectric Power Generation
Details
The book Solar Thermoelectric Power Generation using compound parabolic concentrators is a novel and an important proof-of-concept work. The use of thermoelectric devices for energy conversion is an interesting alternative for energy production and utilization. To combine a thermoelectric module (TEM) with a three dimensional compound parabolic concentrator (3D CPC) is even more interesting. The book has shown a new possibility in the application of the thermoelectric device. It could be used as a hybrid with another system, for example in cooling a photovoltaic system, to enhance its power generation. Students of both solar and thermoelectric power generation will find this a very useful book. An important performance parameter and its significance to the 3D CPC/TEM is shown inside. The study here is presented using a model which takes into consideration all the effects of the parameters and the irreversibilities that contribute to the performance of the system. It is written in simple language with straightforward explanations for easy understanding.
