Solid Waste Management
Details
It is very important to have good and effective waste management techniques as waste generation cannot be stopped easily. With the increasing population due to the high volume of students being admitted every year from different nationalities, thus also leads to an increase in staff demand, and thus waste generated is only going to increase. Cutting waste doesn't mean making sacrifices it is quite the opposite. A low waste lifestyle can be less hassle. You could be spending less time shopping, have more cash in your pocket and be living a slightly simpler life. For the environment, it means less energy and raw materials are being used to make new products, which reduces carbon emissions, while keeping valuable materials out of landfill sites and by so doing saving money for the university. Based on the literature survey, the author's contribution is suggesting the development scheme with the assistance of the student union, to get all the stakeholders in the University of Greenwich, Avery hill campus, especially the student involved by pushing the hierarchy of waste upward to reduction in waste creation. The issue of solid waste management boils down to the attitudinal culture.
