Emotions play a vital role in differentiating between a machine and the thoughtful being-human. The dominance of emotions appertains to human thoughts, attitudes and behaviour. The fulfillment of emotional satisfaction creates a balanced and healthy human being. Distortion and repression of emotions perplex life and lie underneath all types of sufferings, i. e. physical, financial, sexual, mental and professional. Emotional turbulence is devastating and debilitating to both heart and soul. The deepest and lasting wound with any atrocity is the emotional wound. The emotion is the centre point of mental status. In the novels of Shobhaa De, she portrays a variety of women from extremely modern and liberated, to the traditional, subjugated and marginalized, and they all suffer at every level of their relation with man - as a daughter; as wife; and as friend. For the woman of Shobhaa De's novels,nuptial bond and family are the ultimate that provides them security, financial support, love, affection, and above all,satisfaction. Unfortunately,this feeling follows till the marriage or physical association.
