Barbara Schwarcz, 1972 in Wels geboren, studierte Theaterwissenschaft, Germanistik und Publizistik. Sie war mehr als zehn Jahre lang journalistisch tätig und veröffentlichte in dieser Zeit auch ihre ersten literarischen Texte, u. a. in den Literaturzeitschriften »manuskripte« und »Wespennest« sowie auf Ö1. Derzeit lebt sie als Schriftstellerin, Lehrerin für Deutsch als Fremdsprache und Mutter zweier Töchter in Wien. »Sommerverschwendung« ist ihr Debütroman.
