Source: Music of the Avant Garde (also known and hereafter referred to as Source Magazine) is a bi-yearly publication of the late 1960s (1967-1973) documenting West Coast musical experimentalism. It was founded by Larry Austin at the University of California in 1967, later curated by Stan Lunetta and Art Woodbury. California in the late 1960s was flourishing with progressive musical creativity, either at UC-Davis, Berkeley Free University or MidPeninsula Free University. Austin also occasionally collaborated with the San Francisco Tape Music Center, according to his bio on EMF Artists page.
