Space-Borne Antennas: Analysis and Synthesis Using Method of Moments
Details
Modern radio, wireless, and satellite communication and radar systems often require accurate and efficient modeling, analysis, and/or synthesis of electrically large, uniquely designed beam pattern antennas operating in the presence of geometrically complex environments. The electromagnetic analysis and synthesis of such electrically large and complex structures pose a challenging problem in terms of computer resources. The efficient and accurate analysis of the radiation and scattering problems for arbitrarily shaped perfect electrically conducting as well as impedance boundary objects have been accomplished by solving the numerically exact surface integral equation formulations through the method of moments, where the adaptive singularity cancellation technique based near-coupling evaluation, higher-order modeling of the surface current densities, and the efficient storage capability of the k-space representations of spherical harmonics expansion based multilevel fast multipole method have played significant role. The synthesis of specialized antennas with uniquely designed tailor-made beam patterns has been considered using higher-order inverse equivalent current method.
