This book "Special child: Oral health and Management" covers various topics related to health care needs of special children whose dental care is complicated by a physical, mental, or social disability. The management of children with special health care needs (SHCN) creates hesitation and anxiety among health professionals including dentists because it requires specialized knowledge acquired through special training, increased awareness, accommodative measures and resources. Children with SHCN relatively have poor oral hygiene and increased prevalence of gingival diseases and dental caries. Unfortunately, the importance of dental care for these children has often been overlooked by the health planners.
