This work are among basic science which gives young researchers basics and knowledge of analysis related to glassy structure using an important, available and non-destructive tool for structure determination (FTIR)supported by a new theoretical method(DFT). The work starts with a short survey and available theories in glass structure and extended for the study of various type of glasses; from binary, ternary and quarterly in their composition, Silicate, borate, phosphate and mixed former in their constituent, flat, and bioglass in different applications.

The Author Dr. Amr Mohamed Abdelghany works as a researcher at Spectroscopy dept., Physics Division, National Research Center. He works in the field of glass science and have many publications in an international journals concerning the effect of radiation on glass structure, bioglasses and theoretical modeling of glass structure using DFT model.
