Spion Kop is a small village in Nottinghamshire, England. It is located about a mile to the south of Warsop on the A60, Mansfield Road. It is a modern settlement named after the Battle of Spion Kop which took place during the Second Boer War in Natal, South Africa in January 1900. Nottinghamshire is a county in the East Midlands of England, bordering South Yorkshire to the north-west, Lincolnshire to the east, Leicestershire to the south, and Derbyshire to the west. The traditional county town is Nottingham, though the county council is based in West Bridgford in the borough of Rushcliffe, at a site facing Nottingham over the River Trent.
