As a result, they have found that the springtail was hitchhiking on the wings of an adult mayfly. Immediately, the scientists captured this particular information then mentioned that such activity is unique since tiny springtails are known to use mayflies only for transportation. Precisely, the CT scan have demonstrated that the small springtail was sitting at the base of one of the mayfly s wings. In addition to this, the 16-million-year-old creatures seemed to have secured itself to the mayfly via its prehensile antennae.
