In this rapidly and highly competitive environment, the success of especially service rendering firms depends on hiring of skilled employees and retention of trained staff. Without effective employees, even the most capital intensive and well structured organization performs its function inefficiently and may place its very survival at risk. High staff turnover results in breakdown of activities, wastage of money and time, and poor performance. So handling of this vital element should get due consideration from the management side of any organization. This study, therefore, tried to identify the causes and effects of staff turnover and the findings will inform managers to design evidence-based interventions to improve staff retention.
