Star Island Summer

Smart, serious Clare is sixteen and at a family camp in northern Minnesota when she sees him. Really, it s not fair. Who put Adonis on this island? Later, she realizes that she knows this Adonis--it s her childhood friend, Geoffrey. She struggles to keep sense from overriding sensibility because she can see that he has grown into one of those dazzling charmers that simply cannot be trusted. Perversely she cannot seem to escape his company and by the end of the week he has unwittingly broken through all her defenses. Though she is able to hide her true feelings from him, she returns home broken-hearted and begins to write to him two thousand miles away. She hopes against reason for the chance to see him again. Impossible. Or is it?
